Dropping Aptana
For a few months now, I’ve been mostly coding using Aptana Studio, a very useful IDE for Web and AJAX developers. But quite recently, I got fed up with its sluggishness and decided to go back to using Quanta Plus and Geany (when I’m on a Windows workstation).
I did, I really did went to great lengths just so I can keep using Aptana because frankly, IT IS very useful (I just started trying out jQuery and do need all the help I can get). But its features cannot compensate for its slowness. I already turned off plugins I don’t need and even went to the extreme by switching to LXDE before using it. I even put up with the ugly homepage hack on Intrepid.
But I have to say goodbye.
Heck, even Eclipse isn’t that ridiculously slow.

how about komodo? it might not be as featureful as aptana and not as fast a geany, i think it’s somewhere in between. :D
